Anne Fraser’s Crafty Creations

Earlier this month our supporter Anne Fraser in East Lothian opened up her house to share her ‘Crafty Creations’ with the community. The exhibition showcased her design talents and incredibly creative ideas for using items which might otherwise get thrown away. She raised an incredible £1,061.43 from donations and sales of items during the week.

Anne said: “I have had a few families with little children come and enjoy it and also an older gentleman who said he had been feeling quite lonely. He said the display brought a smile to his face. If I can make people happy and also raise some money for charity then that is fantastic.”

Anne saw our work in action when volunteering at the Longniddry Wednesday Club, who we share live music with regularly, and wanted to fundraise to help us to share live music with more people.

Anne said:

“I think carers are so important in society. The charity is a win win because it offers music to the patients which helps them in a way that no pill ever can. And for the carers it is a chance to enjoy some music too with their patient and bring them some joy.”

Here are some examples of her wit and creativity. We are particularly taken with the Bananarama collage!  Thank you to Anne and everyone who came along to support her exhibition!

If you have a creative idea for fundraising, please message us, and we will support you to help share live music with people who may not otherwise get to experience it.

Student Volunteering Week: Molly

It’s Student Volunteering Week, and we’re celebrating the important role student volunteers play in helping us share the joy of live music with communities across the UK.

Children’s Mental Health Week: Reuben’s Retreat

We’ve been sharing the joy of live music with children, their families and staff at Reuben’s Retreat in Glossop. The sessions are designed to soothe and support children with life limiting illnesses and offer an opportunity for families to connect with others who understand their experience.

Special live music for Burns Night

Burns Night celebrates the poems and songs of Scotland’s national bard Robert Burns and his lasting legacy. Our musician John Davidson is sharing two special live music experiences at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen to commemorate the day.
