Music in Hospitals & Care Cymru were delighted to win first place in the ‘Arts, Business and Brand Identity’ category at this year’s Arts & Business Cymru Awards ceremony. The prestigious event took place on stage at Wales Millennium Centre on Thursday 11 July in front of over 400 guests. The award winners were chosen by an independent panel of judges who have expertise in practical art forms, sponsorship and the aims of the private sector.

MiHC Cymru were proud to receive the award for our partnership with Western Power Distribution (WPD). The partnership project was supported by A&B Cymru’s CultureStep programme, and enabled 15 live music concerts to take place in Day Centres across West Wales, benefitting over 300 vulnerable people in some of the most isolated areas of Wales.

WPD also won the award for ‘Business of the Year’ for their inspiration work with 9 Arts Organisations across Wales, where projects focus on reaching a target market and raising awareness of its Priority Services Register for vulnerable customers. The Award trophies, which were specially commissioned for the ceremony, were designed and made by ceramicistDaniel Boyle. They were presented to the winners by well-known celebrities, including MiHC Cymru Patron and Grammy Award winning Soprano Rebecca Evans.
