This Volunteers’ Week, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our incredible volunteers.
From helping out at fundraising events and raising awareness of our work, to providing valuable support behind the scenes, our volunteers play an important role in helping us reach people and communities across the UK. Their time, energy and enthusiasm help us continue bringing the healing power of live music to those who need it most.
One volunteer who has supported Music in Hospitals & Care for many years is Fiona McIntosh. Fiona served as a Trustee for six years and has continued her commitment to the charity as one of our volunteer ambassadors.
Speaking about her involvement, Fiona explains: “I am based in the Peak District, which means I can help promote and attend fundraising events, as well as support our musicians in the area.
“In my hometown of Buxton, we support Music in Hospitals & Care whenever the local music society performs Handel’s Messiah at Christmas. We tell audiences about the charity’s work and hold a bucket collection to help raise funds.”
We’re so grateful to Fiona and to every one of our volunteers who help champion our work in their local communities. Their support makes a real difference and helps us to bring live music to people in hospitals, care homes, hospices and healthcare settings across the UK.
