Cheering on our amazing London Marathon runners!

A huge well done to our fantastic London Marathon team, who all crossed the finish line of the famous race on Sunday.

On the day, conditions were favourable, with clear skies and a light breeze. What stood out most was the atmosphere. Crowds lined the route from start to finish, providing a steady stream of encouragement that carried runners through each stage of the race.

Among those taking part was Colm McCarthy, Mayor of Pennington in Hampshire, who completed the course on a fractured ankle. Lydia, a concert cellist based in New York, ran with a personal connection to the charity’s work, having previously performed for her grandfather in his care home. Rachel Berry, a nurse with St Barts NHS Trust from Sidcup in Kent, and Chris Chadwick, from Tunbridge Wells, who was featured in The Times ahead of the race.

In the lead up to the race, our runners held a whole host of events to raise funds, including gigs, recitals, raffles and a coffee morning. The funds raised will help us to bring live music experiences to people who may not otherwise get to experience it, including those living with illness, isolation, or limited mobility.

For the runners, the achievement goes beyond completing the distance. It reflects months of preparation, resilience, and, in many cases, a deeply personal motivation. For those watching from the sidelines, it reminded us of the role community plays in supporting such efforts.

Thank you to everyone who ran, donated, and supported along the way.
