Musician Moments: Dan Walsh

Our musicians have been speaking about some of the most significant moments they have experienced whilst sharing Joy Through Live Music with Music in Hospitals & Care.

Dan Walsh has been working with us in South England since 2017.

“I was singing in a care home for people living with dementia and had reached the instrumental section of the song. During this I became aware of some humming behind me. I turned round and the humming patient took this as a cue, stood up and unleashed a phenomenal voice almost knocking me to the floor! He sang the song with such amazing passion, emotion and power and the staff and patients were absolutely gobsmacked.”

Carers’ Week at Murrayfield Memory Lane Café

It’s Carers Week, and we’re highlighting the power of live music to transform dementia-friendly spaces into vibrant hubs that help to reduce anxiety and confusion of people affected by memory loss.

Volunteers’ Week: Fiona McIntosh

We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our incredible volunteers who help to raise awareness of our work and provide valuable support behind the scenes.
