We’re excited to announce our Big Give Christmas appeal total!

On 13 November 2023 we made phone calls and sent cards to dedicated supporters, who shared heartfelt memories and stories.

Last month Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge was transformed for Diwali with sparkling lights and candles. We were delighted to celebrate with patients, families, staff and our musician Shem Jarrold.

We work with over 300 musicians, including some who have been with us for many years and have seen lots of changes to popular music, health and care settings and the charity over the decades. Singer and guitarist Bernie Fawcett has been working with us in the North of England and North Wales since 2015.

We are proud to be involved in the So Many Beauties dementia-friendly music festival taking place at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on Friday 20 September.

Music in Hospitals & Care supporters, Lena and Ceri used their beautiful voices in a musical fundraising evening in Chepstow to raise funds to share live music across the UK.

The special 75th anniversary edition of our annual report is now available to read. In 2023/24 we celebrated 75 years of joy through live music and everyone who has supported us along the way.

Our IMAGINED research project with the Edinburgh Centre for Research on the Experience of Dementia (ECRED) has got off to a flying start with a knowledge-exchange and co-design workshop at St Columba’s Hospice Care.

I’m Kristi and I have just completed a six week internship funded by The Robertson Trust as Digital Media Intern for Music in Hospitals & Care. My role was to organise the photos and videos the charity has on file. I also went to observe live music in Scotland and take photos.

The final day of #SmallCharityWeek is all about HR and people, and how small charities are supporting their staff. Our Staff Engagement team is led by Lara, our People and Culture Lead, and explores ways that staff can connect and socialise while working remotely.
