Sharing live music with hearing impaired children in Stalybridge

Following the success of our live music for hearing impaired babies and toddlers in Manchester, a group for pre-school children in Stalybridge have had visits from our musicians every half term.

The group helps children aged 6 months to 3 years to develop good listening skills through music, singing and play activities. Parents also benefit by getting peer support from other families.

“We had lots of great listening and attention by the children and good responses to the music and musicians. The parents also had a good experience seeing their children’s reactions.”
Sharon Ralph, Teacher of the Deaf who runs the group

“It was a small but select group that joined in with the music today. We had great fun together and there were some lovely moments. There was lots of singing, clapping and dancing. They loved the nursery rhymes and listening to our instruments. Highlights were of course the cucumber clarinet and hearing the low notes on the bassoon.
