Soundbytes Festive Fundraiser

7th December 2018

Surrey based music group, Soundbytes, held their end of term fundraising concert on Tuesday night, raising £1,356 for Music in Hospitals & Care.

The concert was held in Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, which was decked out in festive decorations to accompany the Christmas songs sung at the packed out event. Soundbytes choir formed in September 2009 with a rapidly growing membership. Hazel Hannam, founder and choral leader, singer and arranger is passionate about getting people singing “When singing as a collective, it creates a feeling of unity, belonging and well-being. There are also emotional and health benefits too. As individuals we may not be ‘solo material’ but when many voices sing with blend and balance, we can create the most beautiful music.”

A group of MiHC staff from the Walton office went along to host an information stall and lead the bucket collection at the end of the night, which took an incredible £1,356 – Happy Christmas indeed!

It was a brilliant evening with songs from George Michael, Leonard Bernstein, Gary Barlow, and of course, some classic Christmas carols. We are so grateful for the generosity of everyone who attended and for Soundbytes for choosing to support Music in Hospitals & Care as their charity of the year.
