MiHC Scotland at the Scottish Parliament

1st October 2017

In September 2017 MiH became MiHC! We celebrated our new colourful logo and name with an event in the Garden Lobby of the Scottish Parliament.

Looking back, we’ve come a long way since the Scotland office was opened in 1980. At that time we were the Council for Music in Hospitals, then Music in Hospitals and now Music in Hospitals & Care. Whatever our name, our purpose has been the same and it’s quite simple – we provide concerts to make people feel better.

That’s why we chose the theme of Access All Areas for this Parliamentary reception and launch of our new name and brand. We keep working to make sure that everyone, regardless of their health and
care needs or location, is able to share and join in our concerts.

We were most grateful to Miles Briggs MSP, member of the Health and Sport Committee, for sponsoring the event for us and for the warmth of his welcome and support of our work. It was wonderful to share the occasion with so many of our MiHC Friends, supporters, musicians and donors; thank you all for coming and sharing the evening with us.

With our new colourful logo and updated name, we’re looking forward as MiHC to some fun events in 2018 – our 70th birthday year!
