  • After seven years at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, MiHC Cymru has recently moved into its new home in the Cardiff Bay area of the city. The team is now based at a third sector hub set up by the Welsh Council of Voluntary Action.

    Mezzo-Soprano Lyn O’Hara has been working with Music in Hospitals & Care since 2013, performing nearly 200 concerts and music sessions for the charity. Her musical delivery is warm, inclusive and fun, drawing people in both with her beautiful voice and good humour.

  • Students on Royal Birmingham Conservatoire's Music, Community and Wellbeing module will be observing professional musicians from Music in Hospitals & Care over the next two terms as part of an ongoing partnership with the institution.

  • Grammy award winning pianist Christopher Glynn becomes Vice President. He will join President Sir Thomas Allen CBE and fellow Vice Presidents Katie Derham, Dame Evelyn Glennie CH DBE, Prof Julian Lloyd Webber, Dame Felicity Lott CBE, Dame Vera Lynn CH DBE, Toby Spence and Sir Richard Stilgoe OBE in supporting the charity.

    Our Musician Spotlight for November is Violin and Viola duo String Sisters, who have been working with us in Wales since October 2018.

    "It's humbling to see how many complex machines and medicines are set up in the wards, and the care and patience that the parents and staff give to the little ones. To think that we could bring a little bit of music and smiles to both the babies and grown-ups is absolutely amazing."

  • MiHC Wales has been shortlisted for 'Organisation of the Year' at the Welsh Charity Awards, organised by the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA). Wish us luck!
