Musician Moments: Dawn Allen

Our musicians have been speaking about some of the most significant moments they have experienced whilst sharing Joy Through Live Music with Music in Hospitals & Care.

Dawn Allen has been working with us in North England since 2019 as half of string duo Andrelli.

“One of my fondest memories was when we visited a special educational needs school. We played two sets to two different age ranges and the response we received in both concerts will stay with me for a long time. The children were obviously familiar with the pieces we were playing and the enjoyment they were feeling was radiantly their radiating from their faces.  They joined in singing for a lot of the music but also lay back and relaxed during the lullabies, it was great. We’d put some work into devising the setlist and it felt like we’d got it just right. Not only that but it was the perfect reminder of how music reaches through all sorts of problems for each and every one of us and allows our hearts to sing. Thank you to Music in Hospitals & Care for giving us this amazing musical channel and offering many moments like this.”
