London Marathon 2018

London 10th July 2018

Running a marathon is no mean feat, but our Music in Hospitals & Care team took on the challenge at the hottest London Marathon to date in the UK.

Sophie Sakol, Izzie Clarey, Pete Campbell, Jane Smith and our very own staff member Lucy Dinnage all threw themselves into training routines and fundraising plans with a minimum fundraising target of £1,500 each. There were pub quizzes, busking afternoons and sponsor forms flying, and all to help provide therapeutic live music sessions for adults and children in healthcare environments around the UK.

Our dedicated volunteers turned up early to find the perfect viewing spot to see Mo Farah and our runners in action. Armed with jelly babies and water for anybody in need of a sugar hit, MiHC volunteers cheered their lungs out and bought the runners a celebratory drink afterwards at a local pub.

Two months later, we hope that our runners are 100% rested and proud of themselves for taking on the challenge and smashing it. And what an amazing job they did – with all of their combined efforts, the London Marathon this year raised over £10,000 for Music in Hospitals & Care. Thank you to our marathon superstars, Sophie, Izzie, Pete, Jane and Lucy!
