On Tuesday 14 March we were joined by health and care professionals and some of our musicians at the Pierhead Building to celebrate our 75th year and showcase the genuine human connections made through live music for people with dementia, mental health and serious illness.
Lakeside House in Cardiff recently enjoyed our live music for the first time since before the pandemic with musician Richard Robling. Activities Coordinator Susan Carrick speaks about how important music is to their residents.
We would like to congratulate our Trustee Dr Jeremy Huw Williams and our Vice President Prof Julian Lloyd Webber, who have both been named in the Queen’s birthday honours.
Our Musician Spotlight for February is soprano Jess Robinson and accompanist Rhiannon Pritchard. The duo’s warm personalities have delighted audiences with their wide repertoire including opera, songs from shows and Welsh favourites since they began working with us in 2014.
Our Musician Spotlight for November is Sian Francis, who has been working with us in Wales since 2018 and is well loved for both her lively interactive sessions and calming Lullaby Hour sessions for babies and children.
Our musicians have been speaking about some of the most significant moments they have experienced whilst sharing Joy Through Live Music with Music in Hospitals & Care. Nick Russell has been working with us in Wales since 2014.
Please give today to help improve the health and wellbeing of children and adults through the healing power of live music.
