This week we are celebrating our fantastic volunteers and the valuable addition they make to the Music in Hospitals & Care community. We spoke to Yasmin Mair, who recently volunteered with us in the Fundraising and Communications team.
New research, carried out by the Salford Institute for Dementia at our specially created music café, has found that people living with dementia who regularly experience live music have reduced isolation, increased wellbeing and improved peer support.
Applications are now open for this year’s London Marathon. Run for Music in Hospitals & Care and share the healing power of live music with people in healthcare settings across the UK.
Through the month of December, a group of wonderful fundraisers joined us to Step into Christmas and help share the healing power of live music across the UK.
Our Musician Spotlight for January is pianist Caroline Clipsham, who has been working with us for over 20 years. Caroline’s warm personality and wide repertoire, covering anything from nursery rhymes to classical pieces, make her popular in a variety of healthcare settings.
