Musician Moments: Constance Chow

3rd July 2020

Our musicians have been speaking about some of the most significant moments they have experienced whilst sharing Joy Through Live Music with Music in Hospitals & Care.

Classical pianist Constance Chow has been working with us in South England since 2018.

“Every concert that I’ve played for Music in Hospitals & Care has been special and memorable. My favourite moment was giving a Remembrance Day concert at a care home for war veterans with flautist Bethany Tempest. It just struck me then how big an honour it was to be able to play for a group of veterans who sacrificed everything they had for the country, on the day that commemorates all they had done and remember the loss of many lives during the war. The residents were their usual self – some enjoying a good chat or dance, and some just quietly listening or reminiscing. It is such a privilege to be able to share music with people in care, and to communicate with them in a way that verbal communication simply cannot.”
