Students from Three Rivers Academy in Hersham, Surrey, have raised an incredible £5,620 for Music in Hospitals & Care.
The school choose a Charity of the Year and then Charity Champions from each house arrange fundraising activities. Eddie from Year 9 spoke to us about the achievement:
How do you decide which charity to fundraise for each year? Why did you pick Music in Hospitals & Care?
Heads of houses picked four local charities and each tutor voted for their favourite. MiHC got the most votes, I think because many people thought it would be nice to provide entertainment for people suffering and make their day nicer.
Tell us a bit about some of the activities you have done to fundraise for Music in Hospitals & Care.
Different houses chose to do different things including selling refreshments on sports day, selling cakes and selling t-shirts as well as a non-uniform day.
How does it feel to know you have raised such an amazing amount of money for charity?
I feel very proud to be a part of the effort for raising money for Music in Hospitals & Care.
A big thank you to everyone involved, the money raised will help bring Joy Through Live Music to people in healthcare across the UK.
Please give today to help improve the health and wellbeing of children and adults through the healing power of live music.
